Without getting Dickens-like in my approach, I'll keep it short and simple. I'm a nontypical New Yorker, born in raised in a city for which I bear equal adoration and disdain. Decidedly not a product of my environment, I am the elusive second generation child of immigrants, perpetually in a state of limbo as culture assimilates into something resembling the gumbo of experience.
